SSCG9: The student will explain the differences between the House of Representatives and the Senate, with emphasis on terms of office, powers, organization, leadership, and representation of each house.
SSCG10: The student will describe the legislative process including the roles played by committees and leadership. SSCG11: The student will describe the influence of lobbyists(business, labor, professional organizations) and special interests groups on the legislative process.
Senate Requirements
The requirements the Senate has to follow is that they have to be at least 30 years old, must be a United States citizen for nine years, and you must live in the state you wish to represent.
House Requirements
The requirements the House has to follow is you must be at least 25 years old, must be a United States citizen for seven years, and must live in the state you wish to represent.
